Fire Alarm Technician Training Program

Join the CFAA and become a trusted registered technician today

This program leads to the CFAA Registered Technician designation, the most-recognized credential for those who perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems in Canada.

Anyone can enroll

There are no pre-requisites to enter the program. The program will especially appeal to those with backgrounds in electrical systems, fire safety, or fire fighting.

Start at any time

Enter the program and enrol in your first course whenever you’re ready.

Consists of 180 hours of course content

Some complete the program in 6 months! Most people take 1.5 to 2 years.

Cost will vary based on your course selections

The total cost for all 5 Courses, followed by the Theory & Practical Exams is approx. $3K total if taken online via our self-paced online learning program. There are also options to take in-person, instructor-led courses through our CFAA Education Partners, though fees will vary based on how you choose to take your courses and whether or not you qualify for any course exemptions.

After you become registered

You’ll then be recognized publicly as a CFAA Registered Technician. You’ll also keep up your registration with continuing education and license renewals every 1 or 2 years.
