Course Exemptions

Students in the CFAA Fire Alarm Technician Training program may be eligible for course exemptions

Course Exemptions

If you have completed equivalent courses, you may be eligible for exemptions from CFAA Fire Alarm Technician Training program courses 2, 3, or 4.

To apply for a course exemption you must:

  1. Achieve a mark of 60% or higher with a minimum 36 hours (the equivalent course must be at the college, university, or trade school level)
  2. Have a CFAA account
  3. Submit a copy of your official transcript
  4. Submit a completed CFAA Exemption Form
  5. Pay a one-time non-refundable processing fee of $50

Electrician Exemptions

If you are a licensed electrician in Canada, you may be exempt from CFAA Fire Alarm Technician Training program courses 2, 3, and 4.

To apply for course exemptions you must:

  1. Have a CFAA account
  2. Submit a photocopy of your wallet-sized electrician’s license
  3. Submit a copy of your official transcript
  4. Submit a completed CFAA Exemption Form
  5. Pay a one-time non-refundable processing fee of $50
