Course Exemptions
If you have completed equivalent courses, you may be eligible for exemptions from CFAA Fire Alarm Technician Training program courses 2, 3, or 4.
To apply for a course exemption you must:
- Achieve a mark of 60% or higher with a minimum 36 hours (the equivalent course must be at the college, university, or trade school level)
- Have a CFAA account
- Submit a copy of your official transcript
- Submit a completed CFAA Exemption Form
- Pay a one-time non-refundable processing fee of $50
Electrician Exemptions
If you are a licensed electrician in Canada, you may be exempt from CFAA Fire Alarm Technician Training program courses 2, 3, and 4.
To apply for course exemptions you must:
- Have a CFAA account
- Submit a photocopy of your wallet-sized electrician’s license
- Submit a copy of your official transcript
- Submit a completed CFAA Exemption Form
- Pay a one-time non-refundable processing fee of $50
